This last weekend in September I joined Amanda and David’s family to photograph their sweet and heartfelt intimate ceremony! They held it at the Holy Trinity Church in Georgetown, Washington DC. The Church is gorgeous, and when the rain came to say hello, the porch by their entrance was our saving grace.
They sya rain on your wedding day is good luck, right? Well, these two are LUCKY becayse we had some rain!
Amanda wanted to make sure her grandpa had a chance to walk her down the aisle, and that just made it so much more special to me, since neither of my grandpas were able to see me get married. I made it my mission to get as many portraits of them as I could.
Their ceremony was intimate and filled with just the closest of friends and their family. It included blessings over those who are going through difficulties and prayers for the ones who couldn’t be there. And I have to admit, I had to fight back some tears. Everyone present was fun and joyful and you could tell how much this coupe meant to them!
After their ceremony, it was portrait time, and we were faced with the inevitable rain. It was a challenge to find another good spot that didn’t include heavy traffic, but at the end, I am glad out original plan B location didn’t work, because we found something every prettier, sheltered from the rain and with amazing light!
Are you getting married soon and are afraid of the rain on your wedding day? If so, don’t be! We can still create amazing portraits with the right light and location!
Thank you Amanda and David for allowing me to share your story and to document such a special day in your lives; I wish you all the best and many years of happiness! I hope you enjoy these as much as I do!
