Finding the perfect combination of these two factors can be difficult without compromising elsewhere. Luckily, there are several local venues that have this down to an art! As a Maryland wedding photographer, I get the chance to get an up close and personal look at some of the top venues around. If you have been looking for a gorgeous and luxurious space for your wedding, I would love to take a few minutes and tell you all about the kind of experience you can expect from The Mansion at Valley Country Club wedding venue.
1512 Jeffers Road, Towson, Maryland 21294
The Mansion at Valley Country Club dates back through the centuries to when the Kellogg family first built the estate in 1858. In its early days, the estate was a cattle farm and equestrian property settled on over 500 acres. Decades later, the home was sold to the Donovan Family specifically so they could host some fantastic parties and events. They went straight to work building a ballroom that was opened in 1960. Today, the building serves as a celebration of all things Baltimore, including the Colts and Hall of Famer Art Donovan.
The Mansion At Valley Country Club offers both indoor and outdoor spaces for your wedding ceremony. When you book your wedding, you will have exclusive access to both the manor and the gardens. The garden is the ideal space for couples seeking an outdoor wedding. Paved walkways lead to lush woodlands where you can exchange your vows. If you would prefer to hold your ceremony elsewhere, the mansion will work with you to find the ideal space for your wedding size.
For those who would prefer indoor climate control, the mansion has an expansive ballroom that is perfect for your ceremony. With over 3,000 square feet, you can transform it into your dream space. The room has a draped ceiling with custom lighting, so you can create the perfect venue.
The venue lets you transform the ballroom into a reception space. This area will give you plenty of space to mingle with your guests before you dance the night away. The lighting options also give you a creative way to divide up the different portions of your night.
The Mansion At Valley Country Club wedding venue has several spots that you can use for a cocktail hour. Couples looking for a more intimate option can use the cocktail room. This space features a full bar as well as plenty of sports memorabilia. While the landing in front of the bar is fairly narrow, the surrounding rooms will allow your guests to move around and chat as you take pictures. You can use the veranda or porch outside the mansion for those wanting an outdoor cocktail hour. This allows guests to enjoy signature drinks and gaze out over the meticulously kept gardens.
The venue has designated bridal suites and groom’s rooms where you can relax before the ceremony begins. These comfortable rooms are equipped with furniture so you can relax before your guests start to arrive. The venue will even stock these rooms with champagne before your event.
While the venue has smaller rooms for intimate events and elopements, its ballroom can accommodate up to 250 guests.
The historic Georgian mansion is full of both newer accommodations and original features that will take your wedding to the next level. The parlor outside the ballroom has a brick fireplace to greet your guests as they enter the ceremony space. There are candelabras on top, and the fireplace can be lit during the colder seasons. The ballroom includes crown molding, brass features, and a large ornate mirror at the front of the room. There are oriental rugs to add warmth to the parquet floors. The exterior features vibrant rose bushes and towering trees that will provide the perfect amount of shade during warmer days.
The Mansion At Valley Country Club has so many fantastic spots for your wedding portraits. For individual portraits, you can use the get-ready rooms as well as the gardens. Once it’s time for couple portraits, you’ll be able to find so many private and magical spots to sneak a kiss. The mansion has a sweeping, split-level staircase where many couples get their portraits. This is also ideal for showing off all the details of your dress. The grand entrance serves as a spot to sit and get a sun-lit picture. The gardens near the home will provide an accessible space for your group portraits.
While The Mansion provides you with a gorgeous space for your wedding, the hospitality is what has made it such a beloved spot. You will be matched with a wedding coordinator who will make sure you have everything you need for your dream day. All weddings get a four-hour open bar with premium liquor, beer, and wine. They will provide one hour of butlered hors d’oeuvres during your cocktail hour. They also provide you with a complimentary champagne toast. The venue will work with you to build a menu with options you and your guests will adore. They will take care of everything, including the tables, the chairs, and the linens. They will even fill the foyer with fresh flowers from their preferred florists, so your guests will instantly be blown away!
