When you’re planning your fairytale wedding, there’s a good chance you want something that feels as though it was freshly breathed from the pages of a storybook. From the ambiance to the backdrop, everything has to be just right. As a Maryland wedding photographer, I get the chance to see tons of positively dreamy wedding venues, and I’m here to tell you about some of my favorites. If you are on the search for a magical venue that will give you top-of-the-line accommodations, let me tell you what you can expect from a Cork Factory Hotel wedding.
480 New Holland Avenue, Lancaster, Pennsylvania 17602
Cork Factory Hotel has roots reaching back through history to 1865. While the tumultuous year was changing the fabric of America’s future, the first bricks were being put into formation in the industrial Urban Place. The building would serve as Lancaster Saw, Bark, Spoke & Bending Mill, and in 1875, the Lancaster Cork Company would use it to begin production. The factory continued to produce corks until the 1960s, when it started to produce glass and caps. In 2004, the venue was purchased to create a mixed-use community, and in 2007, the first tenants moved in. The building has served as a hotel and restaurant since 2009 and has built up a reputation as one of the best wedding venues around. When you book your unique event here, you’re not just getting a breathtaking venue; you’re also getting hospitality second to none!
The hotel has various indoor spaces you can use for your dream event. Couples who are planning a large ceremony will adore the Ballroom. This brick room features wooden cathedral ceilings and a fireplace. The room features a combined total of 5,225 square feet. It also features an open-air patio for more intimate events. You and your beloved can utilize this space to exchange vows overlooking the city skyline.
While The Warehouse is a smaller 2,300-square-feet, it still provides you with an open and airy space for your ceremony. The room has a few industrial chic touches, but it remains just as refined as The Ballroom with the same color scheme and brick fixtures.
Smaller weddings can use the Assembly Room. This space features a fully brick interior with windows that let in plenty of natural light as well as some stunning views of the city. This option is perfect for elopements and micro-weddings.
The ceremony spaces can easily be transformed into reception spaces during your cocktail hour. The Ballroom gives your party plenty of space to spread out and chat until it’s time for the dancing to begin! The Warehouse is similarly ready to host your bash. For smaller, more intimate dinners, you will be able to use The Assembly Room. The hotel has several on-site restaurants they invite you to use for this portion of your day. The Cork and Cap Restaurant, the 1865 Room, and The Baker’s Table are all wonderful places to host a reception for a micro-wedding.
The patio of The Ballroom makes a great space for your cocktail hour. Your guests will get to enjoy your signature drinks while looking out at the surrounding city. The Assembly Room also works well for this time.
The venue spoils couples with their Wedding Suite. This comfortable space is outfitted with modern furniture, a dressing area, and lots of natural light for your wedding portraits. The Cork Factory Hotel is ready to host up to 200 guests for your event.
The rooms of the hotel are open and spacious, with high ceilings and open floor plans. The Ballroom has towering brick walls and raw wooden rafters. The windows are slightly arched, and there are gorgeous circular chandeliers that light up the space. Many couples choose to dress up the light fixtures with either flowers or drapery. Regardless of what you choose, the room will feel as though you’ve walked right into a rustic French castle. The Warehouse features polished wooden walls that give way to black chair rail about halfway down. Support beams have been wrapped in brick to conceal them while adding elegance.
Throughout your wedding day, you’ll have plenty of opportunities for some pretty iconic portraits! The exterior of the hotel has a funnel as well as a sign that you can use for your backdrop. The wedding suite will give you well-lit, get-ready portraits, and the patio in the ballroom will give you the chance to get pictures overlooking the city. There are also quiet staircases and walkways for romantic couple portraits.
