What’s not to love about Andrew and Kay’s sunset Kent Island Engagement? I feel like Kent Island has been my second home this Summer, and I am loving it! We lucked out with an amazing sunset, an ocean breeze, and drinks to beat the heat.
They’re getting married next year at the quaint Osprey Point right by where we had their Kent Island engagement, and I hope we have similar weather because I feel like this summer has been a little bit cooler than previous Maryland summers.
I am not sure if it was the cold front we had last January or something else but the weather for gardens has been really strange this year.
Kay’s mom was also there bringing them drinks and some bug spray for me and we got to talking about her beautiful multicolored hydrangeas, which as not blooming as usual, but lucky us, we had some that were the perfect backdrop for Kay’s engagement ring.
I am currently in the process of choosing outfits for my own yearly session and I thought this would be a great time to talk about choosing your outfits. I love Kay’s dress and the pattern she chose. Yeah, I am sucker for blues, but it was the perfect complement to Andrew’s outfit too.
She chose low heels, which are both cute and practical, even if you aren’t a fan of high heels. Heels elongate your legs and have a way to help you keep your posture a little better than flat sandals. So tip #1, wear heels, even if low ones.
Choose something that you feel AMAZING in. If you have to pull, drag, suck in, that is not the best choice for your engagement outfit, you want to pick something you love yourself in from all angles.
Coordinate instead of matching. If they were both wearing navy blue without a pattern, you can imagine these photos would be a bit more boring because there would be no interest for the eye, and the eyes seek contrast.
Enjoy looking through their adorable photos and I hope you enjoy! If you’re planning your Kent Island Engagement too, let’s get you in the books!
