This Kent Island Summer Wedding is the epitome of Kent Island. From the seafood boil, oyster shell table numbers, a smith island wedding cake, and that Maryland July heat to match. Kassie and Jason’s wedding day was filled with joy, some tears and lots of emotion throughout the day.
Wedding days are hectic, there are so many moving parts to it and so many directions to get pulled into. Kassie was so poised the entire day, from the beginning whether it was 18 questions being asked of her at the same time, to helping others with their own things, she always had a smile and courteous answers for everyone.
Jason has one of those smiles that make you instantly feel happy because it is so full of Joy, and his groomsmen brought in the fun as well. I am always impressed when couples have extra large wedding parties, but that goes to show how many amazing friends he’s made in his lifetime. Fun fact, I was the second photographer for Jason’s sister’s wedding a couple of years ago.
To begin, Kassie’s jewelry belonged to her grandmother, the gorgeous necklace and earrings she wore, but the heirlooms didn’t stop there. She also handed me a beautiful locket with her father’s photo and a colorful ring that belonged to Jason’s grandmother. A handkerchief, a gorgeous beaded white purse, and I might be forgetting something. All of those made for some really special details. Jason also had a special pin celebrating his dad.
Sadly, they both lost their fathers before their wedding day, but there was no shortage of reminders and celebrations for them that day. From a guitar session that guests partook in at their cocktail hour, their ceremony presided by their uncles, and an ice cream bar, just to name a few.
Kent Island Resort was the perfect setting for their summer wedding, from the beautiful grounds to the tent reception and sunset portraits in front of their gorgeous manor! I hope you enjoy looking through these and celebrating with the happy couple!
