Turf Valley Country Club is part of a luxury recreational complex and part a resort. The center was built in 1960 on a piece of land originally belonging to Charles Carroll’s Doughoregan Manor. In 1978, the grounds were transformed into the Tuft Valley Resort, and a five-star hotel and restaurant were added in 1988. They also added a spa around 10 years later. Since then, the venue has supported the community, whether providing an expansive place to relax or sponsoring popular events such as the Preakness Balloon Festival or the Columbia Festival of the Arts. Their event staff knows how to take a fantastic event and transform it into something truly extraordinary. Your wedding will be no exception!

Details of the Grounds
Whether you prefer a ceremony out in nature or would rather keep some temperature control, Turf Valley Country Club has the ideal spot for you! The gardens give you a stunning space where you can host all your guests and have a serene ceremony. The area has a paved aisle with a circle at the head. There is a pergola that provides shade and can be dressed up with your decorations. The entire area is surrounded by pristine landscaping.
For inside ceremonies, you can choose from three ballrooms where you can have your dream event. The Terrace on the Green provides an intimate space with floor-to-ceiling windows inviting in natural light. The Cameo Ballroom and the Wedgewood Ballroom can accommodate smaller parties, and the Grand Ballroom can host as large of a ceremony as you’d like.
Most couples choose to use the venue for their indoor receptions. The Terrace on the Green gives you the feeling of being outside without the worry of uncooperative weather. The three ballrooms give you high ceilings, large windows, and plenty of space for you to dance. They are lit up by elegant chandeliers and can be dressed up with your decorations.

If you would like to have an outdoor wedding, you can set up high-top tables around the patio. Your guests will have premium views of the grounds while enjoying your signature drinks. The Terrace in the Green has a bar and can be used for an indoor cocktail hour.
The venue offers dressing rooms you can use to get ready ahead of your event. Many couples choose to block rooms in the resort, giving you plenty of space to spread out as you get ready. This option will also provide you with a luxurious space to collapse following your event.
No matter the size of your event, Turf Valley Country Club has the perfect spot for you. The Garden can accommodate up to 240 guests, the Terrace on the Green can accommodate up to 120 guests. The ballrooms can accommodate anywhere from 140-650 guests with the Grand Ballroom offering the most room.

The Gardens feature lush landscaping, including tall trees that will make you feel like you’re in your own oasis. The ballrooms have been elegantly decorated with various color schemes, allowing you to find the one that perfectly matches your vibes. The land near the Gardens gives you a fountain you can use as a backdrop. Many couples also love using the pergola in this area for their pics. The lake has a dock, so you can have portraits overlooking the water. The patios give you an accessible way to have group portraits with the grounds in the background.
