We met on a smoky morning for Emily and Brett’s DC sunrise engagement session. I knew the smoke could create a cool dreamy effect on the background, and it was still really clear when looking up close, so that was perfect.
We started at the Georgetown Waterfront and the boardwalk is always a good spot. By going before the sun shines, we avoid the crowds and the DC traffic it’s a win-win! Brett wanted to go by the Exorcist staircase too, so we made that happen. If you didn’t know, that is the actual staircase they filmed The Exorcist in 1973 and they’re steep!
But back to them, Emily and Brett met in college and reconnected years later. Brett surprised Emily with a dreamy beach vacation to St Lucia, where he proposed (talk about romantic!) and they then met with both of their families in Miami to celebrate. If that doesn’t sound like an amazing time, I am not sure what does!
Their wedding is coming up in just a few weeks at one of my all-time favorite venues, Kent Island Resort, and I am so excited. kent island in general is such a picturesque location, and you can’t beat the coastal vibes. Enjoy these beauties, Brett and Emily, you did amazing and I hope you love these as much as I do.
