About The Chase Court Wedding Venue

18 East Chase Street, Baltimore, Maryland 21202

The first thing you need to know about Chase Court is that, yes, it is a cathedral, but it’s here for every kind of wedding. This inclusive space takes a nontraditional approach to their weddings, giving every couple a safe space to enter the next stage of their life. The cathedral was built in 1879, and much of the original architecture still remains. The proprietor of the property, David Egan, has a special love for giving people their dream events. He’s willing to help out with everything from cosplay parties to gorgeous celebration of life services. He has hosted over 800 weddings and writes a regular newspaper column called Getting the Wedding You Want. He will work with you and ensure you have everything you need for the wedding of your dreams!

Details of the Grounds

Chase Court provides you with both indoor and outdoor wedding spaces for your ceremony. For indoor weddings, you will have full use of the cathedral. The sanctuary features off-white walls with gothic windows, dark ceilings, and iron chandeliers. The open space lets you have the perfect layout for your event. The exterior of the hotel provides you with a secluded courtyard. This area is tucked behind an iron gate with plants strategically planted to make it feel like you’re in a world all of your own. The gardens have a small pergola you can access with steps, and many people choose to get married beneath the shade of the covered structure.

The interior tends to be the favored spot for receptions. With the high ceilings and towering windows, the room feels exceptionally large and open, and you’ll have plenty of space to raise a glass before dancing. The exterior can also be used for a secluded garden party. You’ll have space for several tables and the music of your choice.

The courtyard is the best spot for a cocktail hour. Your guests will have a space where they can walk through the gardens or mingle before the reception. During the colder months, you can always set up a bar in the corner of the room and serve signature drinks.

The venue includes a wedding suite upstairs, which you can use an hour before the ceremony. Whether you want to use it with your party or reserve it for just the bride, it will give you plenty of space to spread out and prepare for the rest of the day.

Special Chase Court Wedding Details

Chase Court delights in small weddings and elopements. This venue can accommodate up to 125 seated guests for dinner or 150 guests for a cocktail reception.

This venue is positively dreamy, giving you a space your guests will remember for years to come. The courtyard is situated between the Great Hall and the Library, with a foyer to the side. This layout gives you a mostly enclosed space with the ivy-draped stone walls providing a natural barrier. The opposite side has an iron fence to gate off the area fully. A bold red door leads into the foyer right in front of the Great Hall. You can immediately go from the upstairs bridal suite into the foyer so you can have a truly grand entrance! The interior of the Great Hall features a fireplace and columns, giving you a cozy castle vibe. Because of the unique interior, the venue is often used for themed weddings and parties (think Ren-Faire and Game of Thrones).

Photography Opportunities

There are several Chase Court spots that will provide you with positively dreamy wedding pictures. The iconic red door is amazing as a backdrop for both individual and couple portraits, while the gothic-style interior is ideal for first-look pictures. The staircase is also a fantastic option for these pictures. The exterior gardens are wonderful for all your portraits, including family, individual, and couple portraits. Because of the large windows, you will have great natural lighting throughout your daytime ceremony.
