If you are on the search for a beautiful and historic space for your event, I would love to tell you what you can expect from your Drumore Estate wedding.
331 Red Hill Road, Pequea, Pennsylvania 17565
Drumore Estate is a breathtaking wedding venue that dates back to the 1930s. The mansion was commissioned by John F. Steinman, a philanthropist and local newspaper magnate. He wanted the mansion to serve as his private retreat. He decided on the second-highest peak in the county with a view that overlooked the newspaper building in Lancaster. While the building was brand new at the time, he wanted to infuse a feeling of history. He ordered mature sycamores to be transplanted along the drive leading up to the home and used the beloved colonial style for the house’s facade. He also created plenty of space for entertaining. To this day, the peaceful gardens and the multiple patios and balconies are responsible for some pretty legendary events.
If you’re looking for a breathtaking spot for your garden wedding, then look no further than Drumore Estate! The house has over 70 acres of pristine land that will serve as the backdrop to your wedding. Not only will you be able to see mature plants and blooming perennials, but you will also have exceptional views of downtown Lancaster. The Carriage House contains a pool with grounds you can use as the background for your day.
For couples who would prefer the climate control of the indoors, the Mansion offers a Ballroom. This elegant space features light blue walls and high ceilings as well as large windows overlooking the property. You will also have access to the inside of The Carriage House. This area has off-white walls, vaulted ceilings, and brown framed walls and doors.
For an outdoor reception, you can use the Grand Tent. This paved terrace is settled alongside the home and has sides that can be opened or closed throughout your dinner. Bistro lights illuminate the space.
For an indoor reception, you can use the Ballroom or the Carriage House. With both of these spaces, you will have a designated space to eat your dinner before it’s time for the dancing to begin!
If you would prefer an outdoor wedding cocktail hour, you can use various spaces across the Drumore Estate grounds. You can speak to the venue about placing a bar in the midst of the formal gardens or beneath the shade of the house’s patio. If you would prefer an indoor reception, you will be able to use the bar inside the mansion.
The venue has designated a bridal suite and a groom’s room that you can use before your wedding. The bridal suite is outfitted with a dressing room and comfortable furniture where you can relax while you put on the finishing touches. The groom’s room features barber chairs and an en suite. The indoor rooms give you space for up to 160 guests. The outdoor gardens can accommodate up to 400 guests.
The venue is an exquisite place with elegant details everywhere you look. The front of the house features pale brick with black shutters and a wrap-around porch. The terrace near the house is paved with brick and is encased by shrubs. A wooden pergola stands as the perfect place to set up your arbor. There are fountains and several pools around the grounds. The Ballroom is painted a delicate aqua with white crown molding, white French doors, and white chair rails. The Carriage House has a more modern facade with crisp white siding with a stone base. There is a pool just outside. The interior has neutral walls with black iron light fixtures.
The Drumore Estate grounds give you plenty of opportunities for positively dreamy wedding portraits. As you stroll through the garden with your photographer, you’ll come across narrow passageways, antique iron fences, and bubbling fountains. All of these will serve as the perfect backdrop for both your individual as well as your couple’s portraits. If you want to find ways to incorporate the house while chasing natural light, you can use the exterior balconies and have your photographer shoot from below. You can also take pictures together outside the house near the front door. The venue’s get-ready rooms are beautifully decorated, giving you a fabulous backdrop for your individual pics.
Drumore Estate is here to turn your dream wedding into a reality! You will have 12 hours of venue rental when you book the house. The team boasts expert wedding planners and coordinators who will help you iron out all the details. The venue has an in-house catering team who will work with you to create the perfect menu for your day. While the venue does not have a liquor license, they can serve alcohol for all events. You will supply the drinks, and they’ll focus on the rest. The venue has adaptable packages, so you can find the one that works.
