If you have a second, I would love to tell you all about what you can expect from your Gramercy Mansion wedding.
1400 Greenspring Valley Road, Stevenson, Maryland 21153
Gramercy Mansion is a historic estate wedding venue that was built in 1902. The house was commissioned by the former president of the Pennsylvania Railroad, Alexander Cassatt, as a wedding president for his beloved daughter, Eliza. The result was a grand manor that continues to shine over a century later. While the house would face various ownership throughout the years, it would eventually be converted into an event venue worthy of the happiest celebrations. The house now hosts over 100 weddings and events each year while giving couples their dream setting.
With Gramercy Mansion, you will have access to a number of different spaces for your wedding celebration. You can choose an area within the gardens for those wanting a garden wedding. During the warmer seasons, this area becomes lush with verdant shrubs and vibrant flowers that need no help, making your event feel positively magical. The estate features over 45 acres, and you will be able to work with the venue to find the spot that is right for your ceremony. For those wanting an indoor wedding, you will be able to use the Atrium. This rounded space features floor-to-ceiling windows so guests can view the gardens before your ceremony begins.
The terrace outside the manor remains the favored spot for outdoor receptions. This brick-paved space is surrounded on three sides by the elegant manor. There is a shallow fountain in the center, and bistro lights illuminate the space throughout the evening. Your guests will have plenty of space to dance around and mingle. You can use the Carriage House or the Atrium for an indoor reception. This Carriage House features white walls, white ceilings, brass chandeliers, and a large fireplace. It will give you a comfortable space to raise your glass and toast to the future! If none of these spaces give you enough space for your celebration, you can speak with your coordinator about using one of Gramercy’s sister venues.
The terrace tends to be a great spot for an outdoor cocktail hour. Your guests will be able to order signature cocktails before making their way out into the surrounding gardens. The interior of the Carriage House offers the Atrium as well as smaller spaces such as the foyer, the library, or the bar.
Gramercy operates as an inn and offers guest rooms that you can reserve for a bridal suite or a groom’s room. They also have designated bridal changing rooms that will be included in your rental fees. You will have a comfortable space to put on the finishing touches while sipping some champagne.
The Carriage House is equipped to hold up to 75 guests, while the Atrium will hold up to 150.
Gramercy gives you a Tudor-style mansion with brick accents throughout the spaces. The grounds are livened by both annuals and perennials throughout the landscape. The Atrium features draping across the ceiling and a chandelier right in the center. The fireplaces are lit during colder months, giving a warm, atmospheric glow.
The Gramercy Mansion gardens are full of divine spots where you can take both individual and couples wedding portraits. There is a marble gazebo where you can sneak a kiss or take a picture showing off your dress’s details. You can travel throughout the garden’s walkways and get portraits amid the lush plants. The property also contains quiet woodlands where you can travel and get positively enchanted portraits. Inside the manor, you will find a grand staircase as well as secluded rooms where you can take individual portraits. Finally, the area surrounding the house is flat and accessible, making it the perfect choice for family pictures.
With Gramercy Mansion, you will have tons of amenities that will make your wedding as stress-free as possible. The venue does not provide catering but uses a list of preferred caterers for your events. This list is comprehensive and includes kosher options. The venue provides you with exclusive use of both the manor and the gardens, ensuring that you never have to deal with wedding crashers during your big day. If you are looking for the perfect spot for lodging, look no further than the inn!
The venue also operates as a bed and breakfast, offering 11 spacious rooms where you can stay both before and after your wedding day. They will provide you with tables and chairs and can take care of the set-up for a small additional fee. The venue will allow you to use your own officiant and has several on staff if you would prefer to use them. Additional options, including wooden arches, lawn games, and 8-color uplights, can also be rented. The venue offers military discounts.
With a Gramercy Mansion wedding, you can have a breathtaking, historic estate for your wedding. Check out this venue today so you can decide if it’s the space for you.
